So I think we can all agree that Jared Padalecki is a self-important piece of shit who thinks he matters more than he actually does. Taking shots at celebrities while they’re down (Affleck, Bieber—who kind of deserved it, and now Philip Seymour Hoffman) as a way to compensate for the fact that he’ll never move his acting career beyond a tween network.
THIS IS LIKE THE FOURTH TIME JARED PADALECKI TALKS SHIT LIKE THIS THO DOESNT HE UNDERSTAND THE MOST BASIC RULE OF HUMANITY
don’t you hate how every time someone dies from a drug overdose here comes the holier-than-thou armchair activists with their “it’s not sad they made a personal choice”
no no it doesn’t matter if they died from drugs or not its sad because someone has lost a family member its sad because a life has been taken away its sad because that life was full of talent and potential and its sad because that life succumbed to addiction
so shove that holier-than-thou shit up your ass
- this is how a grown man (who was addicted once) reacts to show people what he thinks about addictions.
I’m not defending or acsusing him in any way. I’m neutral.
But when I saw on tumblr the Jared issue, I was just able to see a side of the discussion. Then I saw his twitter account and noticed that he didn’t just say the first comment. So I’m posting this for people to know all sides of the story.
Jared’s twitter has been on the tumblr radar a lot lately. The rest of the stuff he’s said I didn’t really care about. Most of it wasn’t a big deal and it was highly taken out of context for Tumblr to blow up at. This thoughtless tweet, however, I cannot ignore.
Drug Addiction is a disease. While in my honest opinion it is “stupid” or “senseless” to take a drug in the first place, once you’re addicted you can’t just stop without help. It is a disease that takes over your brain, your body functions, everything. You cannot get away from it. If it were easy we wouldn’t have rehabilitation centers. People wouldn’t die of an overdose all the time.
We have no idea what was going on in Mr. Hoffman’s life to make him use this drug. We are in no place to judge that. All we know is that a wonderful, amazing, talented actor died today alone in his apartment today. And it is terribly sad for everyone who admired his career and loved him as a person.
Philip Seymour Hoffman was a brilliant actor. He was a father, a husband, a person. And he died tragically. So yes, it is fucking sad.
On another note, addiction is a real and serious disease. If you need help, please do not be afraid to reach out to someone.
RIP Philip Seymour Hoffman
